You know what's great about opportunity? It shows up all ready when you are.
I love the fact that opportunity just shows up in my door when I start thinking about it or when I have an idea on something or when I recognize something interesting about the world and all of a sudden boom there it is opportunity .
It reminds me to think about my walk my life, with alcohol. A few years ago I decided I would quit drinking. At the time I was feeling. The world was getting very stressful and that I wanted to make sure that if anything crazy happened that I would be sound of sound. Mind that I wouldn't be intoxicated that I would be ready for the challenge. Joe, that day I decided I would quit drinking. I took the opportunity that day to make a decision to no longer drink alcohol. That lasted about a year and a day. Am I drinking habit started back up again and for the next 2 to 3 years for the next 3 years I got back into the routine of drinking too much and not taking advantage of opportunities in my life. I pass them by day after day. I passed them by day. After day was an opportunity to start something new, day after day was an opportunity to continue something that I had started the day before, those opportunities came and they went. Went.
Forward to October of 2024 when my drinking started to increase and my shame and guilt and justification for it started to take precedence over my work. My productivity, my relationship with my fiance and most importantly my relationship with God. My fiance found out that I had been hiding and lying about this lifestyle and decided to call off our engagement.
That day was an opportunity to get my life straight. Opportunity, that day was ready for me. Me. The question is was I ready for it?
So that day I took the opportunity to begin to repair my life, recover the time that was lost and allow God back into my life to redeem all the things that I had destroyed on my own. One of the most important things in my life got it allowed to be stripped away and the way that I see it is God took an opportunity to let me learn a lesson. So is I write this today. I take the opportunity to tell you that my sobriety is now 102 days Wong and I'm taking this opportunity to write this letter to you and I'm taking this opportunity to encourage you because I want to live my best life and I wanted to take the opportunity to encourage you to also live your best life .
So what opportunities are you facing today? Is there an opportunity for you today too? When the sun goes down get to bed early. Is there an opportunity today to get a good night's rest? If you're up early in the morning, is this an opportunity to to journal your thoughts to journal your patterns to examine an opportunity to examine the things that are holding you back? Is today an opportunity to start that business but you've always wanted to start,? Is today that opportunity to take your business to the next level to implement a new system to send an email to take some kind of action to move your life forward in some way? And here's the most amazing thing about opportunity, not only does it show up when you are ready, but the grace of opportunity is that even though you may not take an opportunity today, you might miss the opportunity today. This moment, that there is a new opportunity that is developing right now. Right before your eyes you will only see it if you're ready to receive it.
See that's a really really cool thing about opportunity. Opportunities are never lost there either. Taken and embraced, they're passed by, they're taken up by someone else, or you just weren't ready to see it or receive it.
So it's okay if you're not seeing an opportunity right now. It may be just that you're not ready to see it, maybe you're not ready to receive it .
But if you are, take advantage of it right now. Take this opportunity while it is fresh in your mind. Well you can see it clearly to write it down. To meditate on it, to develop its vision, to understand what it means to you putting a Price tag on it. Writing down how would benefit you? How would it benefit you financially? Is there an opportunity to repair a relationship? Is there an opportunity to catch up on sleep an opportunity to start a business? An opportunity to catch up on your bills and opportunity to say you're sorry to a friend an opportunity to make to take your to move your life forward. One step and opportunity to just stop evaluate and recognize the opportunities that are around you right now .
That's why I started opportunity watch, in my life having a job, having a retirement, having financial freedom, having a better way of life has always been something that I've wanted, I've always wanted to improve my life. I saw it as an opportunity to win to not fail to not be defeated but to become victorious to reconcile and repair that which is damaged .
So whenever there's damage or tragedy, it's an opportunity to rebuild, so opportunity to be better, it's an opportunity to create a new life, a new future, a new vision, a new way forward in Jesus name. Amen.
